Readings for April 19, 2020
Acts 2:42-47; Psalm 118:2-4, 13-15, 22-24, 1 Peter 1:3-9; John 20: 19-31
Suggested Reflection Questions:
- In the first reading, we see the importance of living a communal life through breaking bread and praying with one another. How can we give ourselves over to others and to God? What sacrifices may we have to make to do so? How can we change our priorities so that loving God and others is at the core of all we do?
- In the responsorial psalm, we are asked to reflect upon the concept of God’s everlasting love. How can we begin to understand the everlasting, all-powerful, and all-knowing nature of God? What does it mean to receive everlasting love from God?
- In the second reading and the Gospel, we are faced with the concept of believing without seeing. Think of the invisible people in our society today. These may be the marginalized, homeless, homebound, etc. How can we express love to these people even without knowing them personally? How does this relate to the love we should have for God?
