Readings for June 24, 2012, Nativity of Saint John the Baptist: Isaiah 49:1-6; Acts 13:22-26; Luke 1:57-66, 80
Suggested Reflection Questions:
- The first reading talks about how God names each of us and forms us from our mother’s womb. God loves us and has a dream for our lives even before we are born. Can you really take that in? How does it feel to know that you are that special to God? What do you think God’s dream for your life includes?
- John the Baptist pointed to way to Christ, without taking the glory for himself. Who has been like John the Baptist in your life, pointing the way to God?
- The Gospel says that the child John “grew strong in spirit.” How have you grown strong in spirit throughout your life? Are you in need of some spiritual exercise right now?
