Readings for Sunday, February 23, 2020 — Seventh Sunday of Ordinary Time
Suggested Reflection Questions:
- In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul reminds us that we are children of God and that we are his temple. How often do we think of ourselves in this way? Do we share this message with others? When we feel like we are being put down, what are some ways we can remember this message?
- In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus tells us: “When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other one as well.” How can we turn the other cheek when it is so tempting to respond with anger? How can our prayer life influence our practical life so that we can change our actions and reactions to these situations?
- In the Gospel, Jesus also tells us to “give to the one who asks of you and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.” What does he mean by this? How are we able to do this with the people in our own lives?
