Readings for May 3, 2020
Suggested Reflection Questions:
- In the first reading, Peter says, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” How does the Holy Spirit manifest itself in your everyday life? Think about the significance behind having the Holy Spirit, one of the three parts of God, inside of you.
- The psalm gives us insight into the goodness of the house of the Lord. If the Lord truly is our shepherd, guiding us and giving us what we need, why do we still have other desires? How can we channel our wants to be in alignment with what God wants from us?
- The second reading urges us to see suffering in a positive light, since suffering for what is good is “a grace before God.” Think of a time when you were suffering and reflect upon how it affected your relationship with God who suffered with you. What can we learn from suffering?
