Readings from Sunday, July 1 — 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Wisdom 1:13-15; 2:23-24; Psalm 30: 2-6, 11-13; 2 Corinthians 8: 7, 9, 13-15; Mark 5:21-43
Suggested Reflection Questions:
- In the first reading, we hear a lot about how God feels about death and how death entered the world. What are your thoughts on this theology about death? Do you think these words are comforting, consoling or troubling?
- In the second reading, note the things that Paul mentions excelling in. Are you excelling in those things? How can we better excel in these ways, as Christians?
- In the Gospel, we read of two healings. How are they similar or different? Who had faith in these two stories? Why do you think Jesus felt the woman’s touched but no one else’s touch in the crowd? How do these healings relate to your own life? If you feel comfortable, share a time when you’ve felt healed by God.
