For this Sunday’s readings: March 11, 2012, 3rd Sunday of Lent
Exodus 20:1-17; 1 Corinthians 1:22-25; John 2:13-25
Suggested Reflection Questions:
- We may not worship carved idols of gold or stone in today’s world, but we definitely put other things ahead of God in our lives. What are some modern-day idols that we honor in place of God?
- The Ten Commandments offer a code for being in right relationship with God and with other people. In what way could your relationship with God use some adjustment? In what ways do your human relationships need healing?
- The story of Jesus’ cleansing of the Temple might encourage us to do a little spiritual housecleaning of our own. How can you de-clutter your heart and sweep out the junk that doesn’t belong there?
