Suggested Reflection Questions:
- The disciples’ faith unfolded through times of doubt and uncertainty and through moments of encountering the risen Jesus. When has your own faith journey included uncertain times and times when you strongly felt the presence of God?
- In the psalm today, we read the line: “I fall peacefully asleep.” What is it like for you before you go to bed each night? Do you fall asleep peacefully, easily? Is your mind swirling with thoughts? Do you pray? How do you end your day? How can you create a relationship with God such that you fall peacefully asleep each night, trusting in God?
- In the Gospel reading today, Jesus asks, “Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts?” How might you answer Jesus?
- When Jesus appears to the disciples in the Gospel reading, they experience feelings ranging from being “startled and terrified” to being “incredulous for joy” to being “amazed.” How do you feel when God appears in your life?
