Readings for Sunday, December 9, 2018 — Second Sunday of Advent
Baruch 5:1-9; Psalm 126: 1-6; Philippians 1:4-6, 8-11, Luke 3:1-6
Suggested Reflection Questions:
- Today’s pop culture seems riddled with foolishness in so many ways (just look at any “reality” TV show or anything that pops up on social media!). How do you see the virtue of wisdom at play in today’s world? How can you cultivate wisdom in your own life?
- When Jesus talked about people eating his flesh and drinking his blood, he must have sounded crazy. Have people ever thought you were foolish or crazy because of something you believed in? How did you hold onto your faith despite feeling alone with your beliefs?
