Readings for Sunday, February 13, 2022 — Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jeremiah 17:5-8; Psalm 1:1-4 and 6; 1 Corinthians 15:12, 16-20; Luke 6:17, 20-26
Suggested Reflection Questions:
- The first reading talks about how those who trust in the Lord will become a flourishing tree while those who do not will be like a barren bush. When are times in your life that you have doubted God, and what have you done to combat those doubts? When the people around you begin to doubt God, what do you tell them to help them trust him?
- The first letter to the Corinthians discusses more about how intertwined faith and doubt can be. Do you think there’s been more doubt in faith now in these modern times, and what do you think is causing it?
- Jesus talks in front of a crowd and tells them how those who are struggling now will be rewarded in the Kingdom of Heaven. What gives you strength during your own times of trouble? When things are going your way, how do you remain humble?
