Suggested Reflection Questions

  • In the psalm, we read that God lifts up those who are falling and raises those who are bowed down. Recall a time when you were falling. How did you reach out to God and how did you feel his presence? Did you learn anything about your faith afterward?
  • In the second reading, we are advised to not live by our flesh but by our spirits. What are examples of living a spiritual life? How can we do a better job of not valuing the physical and focus on the spiritual aspects of our lives?
  • In the Gospel, Jesus tells those who labor and are burdened to come to him as he will grant them rest. How do you find rest in Jesus? How does being a follower of Jesus help you seek comfort?
