Readings for Sunday, January 21 — Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jonah 3:1-5, 10; Psalm 25: 4-9; 1 Corinthians 7:29-31; Mark 1:14-20
Suggested Reflection Questions:
- The first disciples left behind their fishing nets and the world they had known in order to follow Jesus, who promised to turn their lives upside down. What have you left or lost in order to live out your faith in relationship with Jesus? What have you found?
- How can you be more aware that “the kingdom of God is at hand” to notice the ways that God is really present in your everyday life? How can you share God’s presence with others?
- Think about one or two moments of drastic change in your life — maybe a new school year, a new town, a reunion or a separation. Perhaps you’re going through a period like that now. Can you see where God’s hand, God’s love, God’s call was/is in the midst of that change?
