Readings for Sunday, November 8 — 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

1 Kings 17:10-16; Psalm 146: 7-10; Hebrews 9:24-28; Mark 12:38-44

Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • Have you ever felt like you had nothing left to give, like the widows in the first reading and the Gospel? When has God asked more than seemed possible of you? How did God provide for you in that experience?

  • In the first part of today’s psalm, we hear of the Lord righting wrongs in today’s world (justice/oppressed, food/hungry). Where do you think these words are most relevant today? How are you participating in God’s work in these areas? Could you be doing more?

  • What are the areas of poverty in your life? What are the areas of abundance? Can you offer both your poverty and your abundance back to God?

  • How do you “eagerly await” God’s coming into your life?
