Bread Left Over

Readings for Sunday, July 25 — 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time

2 Kings 4:42-44; Psalm 145: 10-11, 15-18; Ephesians 4:1-6; John 6:1-15

Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • Are you “living in a manner worthy of the call you have received”? Looking at the list of virtues in the second reading, are you living in the way God desires for you? How can you continue to live in this way? If you feel comfortable sharing, how do you think you can grow in the virtues you don’t already have?
  • Have you ever experienced a loaves and fishes moment — a time when you didn’t think you had enough, but it turned out to be more than enough? What brought about that change?
  • Do you tend to look at life from a mindset of scarcity or a mindset of abundance? Is it easy for you to trust that God will provide what you need? How do you think you can grow in trusting that God will provide?
