Quick Tips

Help Young Adults Transition

Table of Contents

For many, young adult life is characterized by transition. For instance, many young adults find it difficult to transition between university campus ministry and post-college parish life. Make a concerted effort to reach out to local campus ministry programs and Newman Centers in the springtime when seniors are preparing to graduate. Make connections with the young adults there and perhaps host a meal or gathering at your parish to introduce yourselves.

Simple gestures, like intentionally remembering the names, workplaces, and hometowns of young adults, will convey your ministry as a hospitable place where newly arriving young adults are welcomed and valued.
