Invite young adults to turn the parish basement or another space into a spooky haunted house for Halloween. Advertise to children and parents at local schools and the children and grandchildren of parish members. Have face painting, games, and ghost storytelling for older kids. And offer an alternative trick or treating activity for little kids who might be too scared to go to the Haunted House portion. Provide a sugar-free alternative to diabetic children who can’t eat candy. Also remember to set aside a stash of nut-free candy, like Skittles, for children with an allergy.
