Is there a neighborhood farm nearby? Invite your young adult group or the entire parish to subscribe to their local vegetable farm share and then work with the farm to facilitate fruit and vegetable pick-up at the church. Young adults can invite people to sign up and volunteer to help with bagging and carrying the food to people’s cars. This is one way of contributing to the local economy and a great example of an environmentally sound (and healthy) practice that is easy to participate in.
