Summer Tips Based on the Corporal Works of Mercy
Does your parish have a bereavement group? If it does, it’s probably made up of older, retired people who have time for such things. But consider putting together a smaller bereavement group made up of young adults. People in their 20s and 30s lose parents, grandparents, and even spouses. It is helpful to identify those who are dealing with loss in the community and offer them condolences and invitations to the parish young adult ministry events. Consider creating baskets of fruit or a meal for someone who is grieving. You might also try to be present at funerals or offer to pay for and hold the post-funeral luncheon. Young lawyers in your group might be helpful for young adults who need to sort out estates, financial difficulties, and a whole lot more.
