Royal Baby Frenzy

Table of Contents

There’s just not that much good news in the world today. It seems that every time you turn on the TV or listen to the radio (people still listen to the radio, right?), the airwaves are flooded with tales of sadness and suffering. Well, last week there was a little reprieve from despair as the world welcomed a new royal baby, His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge, into the world. Over at Busted Halo, two summer interns mused about why this baby’s birth was anticipated and welcomed with such hype and excitement. Share their article with young adults and see what they think:

  • What did you think of the article? How did the hype about the birth of the royal baby affect you?
  • What feelings are you left with after you listen to the morning/evening news or read a daily newspaper or online news source? How does the news affect your overall mood?
  • What was the number one news story for you last week?
  • Kate and William chose a very traditional name for their son. What does your name mean or mean to you? What special connection do you have to your confirmation name, if you have one?
