This week promises to hold an announcement from President Barack Obama about plans for immigration reform. The U.S. Conference of Bishops has called for comprehensive immigration reform in the United States. It will be interesting to see how the President’s plans match the bishops’ recommendations and those of other faith groups. Share the Church’s position on immigration reform with young adults and talk about it:
- What do you think of the Church’s position?
- What biblical passages do you recall that talk about migration, welcoming the stranger, or other issues that relate to the idea of welcoming the stranger?
- How do might these biblical ideas relate to our ideas about immigration and immigration reform today?
