Advent Faith Sharing brings Young Adults together for an evening of conversation as the church prepares for the Christmas Season. This gathering will offer young adults space for quiet reflection, reading scripture, and sharing favorite poems, short stories, or writings about Christmas.

  • Introduction
  • Prayer
  • Background on beginnings of young adult ministry (Explain why this ministry is important and how it fits into the parish and share the initial vision of what the ministry would look like)
  • First Steps: Creating a Core Team
    • What needs to get done?
      • Logistics
      • Marketing/Promotion
      • Programming (including spiritual formation, social activities, service projects)
      • Social Media
    • What is a member’s time commitment?
  • Discernment
    • Scripture reading on discerning gifts: 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
    • What role might you be interested in helping with?
    • Important to remember about discernment: God knows what will help our spiritual growth at this time. If God really walks with us in our journey, then God knows if it’s right for us to participate or not.
    • Discernment is answering the question of, “What is God asking of me right now?”
    • Invitation to discern for one week
    • Spend some time in prayer this week to determine if this is where your time and talent needs to be spent.
  • Set meeting date for core team members
  • Closing prayer
