Speak Into the Light

Readings for June 21, 2020

Jeremiah 20:10-13; Psalm 69:8-10, 14, 17, 33-35; Romans 5:12-15; John 15:26B, 27A; Matthew 10:26-33

Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • In the first reading, Jeremiah calls out to God ands refers to him as someone who tests the just and probes both the mind and the heart. When was a time that you felt like God was testing you? How did you respond?
  • In the second reading from Romans, we are told how the gift of Jesus bestowed unto us by God is enough to make up for sins that have plagued humanity since the very beginning. When was a time you felt like the recipient of God’s grace?
  • In the Gospel, Jesus tells his Apostles to fear no one and speak into the light. How can you follow this teaching and speak into the light? What issues do you feel passionately about? What small thing can you do this week to express that concern and support the issue at hand?
