Readings for Sunday, December 14, 2025– Third Sunday of Advent

Isaiah 35:1-6a,10; Psalm 146:6-10; James 5:7-10; Matthew 11:2-11

Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • God is in our midst, and God is always near. How do you feel aware of God’s nearness? Is there anything in your life that keeps you from feeling it?
  • In the psalm today, we hear about the saving power of Jesus. Recall a moment where he has interceded in your life during a difficult time. What feeling do you have in your heart right now? Is it the spirit of joy and peace described in today’s readings? Or something else? (Perhaps anxiety about Christmas shopping for your friends and family, or seeing family you may not have seen in a long time?!)
  • What spiritual house cleaning needs to be done in order to be ready for Jesus to move into your heart?
