Strength and Freedom

Readings for Sunday, June 29, 2025-Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Apostles

Acts 12: 1-11;Psalm 34:2-3,4-5,6-7,8-9; 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 17-18; Matthew 16:13-19

Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • In the first reading, an angel of the Lord rescues Peter from imprisonment. Perhaps you feel trapped in your daily life (e.g. addicted to social media, feeling pressure from family, friends, or sports). If the Lord were to send an angel to rescue you from something, what would it be?
  • In the second reading, we hear Paul say “The Lord stood by me and gave me strength.” Where does the Lord provide you with strength? Is there an area of your life where you wish the Lord was providing you strength?
  • The rock referred to in the Gospel helped provide a foundation for the Church. How can you be a rock for those around you who may be struggling?
