In the reading from Isaiah, God foretells of disciples who will “proclaim my glory.” How do you think the people at that time interpreted this role? How do we interpret it today?
The second reading reminds us that God loves through discipline, and that we must “make straight paths” for ourselves to follow God’s Word. How does God’s discipline compare to that of other authorities in our lives? How can we “make straight paths” in the world today?
In the Gospel, Jesus says we must “enter through the narrow gate,” because only a certain number shall be saved. How can we strive to live lives that will glorify God? What do you think of the message of judgment that is portrayed in this passage?
