Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • The prophet Isaiah explains that God’s love, power, and principles are far above full human understanding. Does knowing this compel you to turn to God, or does it make you anxious? How can we explain God to others when we cannot fully understand him ourselves?
  • In his letter to the Philippians, Paul explains that death is something to look forward to rather than fear. At the same time, he emphasizes the importance of making the most of our time on Earth. How can we strike up a balance between these two mindsets? How can we live with an eye towards heaven?
  • In today’s Gospel, Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to workers in a vineyard. This comparison highlights that those who repent and find God later in life will receive the same reward as those who have followed him their whole lives. Do you think this is fair? What does this say about God’s immense mercy?
