Readings for Sunday, May 17, 2026 — Seventh Sunday of Easter
Acts 1:12-14; Psalm 27:1,4, 7-8; 1 Peter 4:13-16; John 17:1-11a
Suggested Reflection Questions:
- The second reading helps us to share in Christ’s suffering. Although we don’t want to suffer, it is a way for us to relate to Christ and be grateful for his sacrifice. How does putting suffering under this lens help you endure it? Is it challenging for you to think of hardships in this way? What are some ways you can ask God to help you overcome challenges?
- Today’s Gospel displays Jesus praying to God the Father. What do you make of this conversation? Does it help you to further understand the Trinity? It also shows Jesus’ love for us. How does it make you feel that Jesus went through such great suffering to save us from sin?
