Readings for Sunday, September 6, 2026 — 23rd Sunday of Ordinary Time
Ezekiel 33:7-9, Psalm 95:1-2, 6-7, 8-9; Romans 13:8-10; Matthew 18:15-20
Suggested Reflection Questions:
- The first reading calls us to be “watchmen,” or evangelizers in order to try to deter others from sin. How can we evangelize in a way that is well-received? Do you feel comfortable talking about your faith with others, especially those who are not Christian?
- In his letter to the Romans, Paul reinforces the Golden Rule. How can we show love to others, even those we do not get along with? Do you agree that all the Commandments can be summarized with this principle? How did Jesus live out the Golden Rule?
- In the Gospel, Jesus guides us in addressing conflict and sin. How do you approach those who commit wrongdoings against you? Why should we show them compassion and a chance to make amends? How can Jesus lead us in being more forgiving?
