Ordained in 1570, St. Robert Bellarmine (Feast Day September 17) was ordained during the Counter-Reformation. He was an avid scholar in Tuscany and was praised for his intellect. He lived a very humble lifestyle, and was the first Jesuit to become a professor at Louvain. Robert Bellarmine contributed significantly in defending the Church against Reformist arguments and strengthening Catholic thought. He is now considered a Doctor of the Church.

- How can you strengthen your relationship with God through learning or academics?
- Have you ever had to defend something you believe in? How are you called to do so?
