St. Peter of Tarentaise

St. Peter (Feast Day September 14th) began his religious life as a monk and was eventually ordained the archbishop of Tarentaise. As archbishop, he was eager to overcome corruption and reach out to the poor. With a hefty task at hand, St. Peter would often retreat in the mountains. After a decade as bishop, St. Peter ran off to an abbey in Switzerland for about a year before continuing his ministry as bishop with a particular focus on the poor.

Questions for Reflection:

  • How do you reach out to the most vulnerable? How can you in the future?
  • Where do you go to relax and reflect? How can you make sure you are able to step away when you need to?
  • Is there anything God has called you to that you have taken a break from? How and when can you get back on track?
