Young adults are at a particularly vulnerable time in their faith lives, so be honest about your own struggles with faith or with the Church. Honesty and authenticity are a much better approach than making faith “easy” or “simple.” Speak freely about your own times of doubt and desolation. Offer opportunities for open and honest dialogue, free from judgment, in which young adults can express their own struggles. These can be sins they struggle with, or teachings of the Church they don’t quite agree with or understand. It can be a beautiful opportunity for growth and education. Bringing in established Church members, clergy, or other young adults to have these raw conversations can be wonderfully fruitful!
