Eucharist-Centered Retreat

Ideas

  • It would be a good idea to add a service/social justice aspect to this retreat. There might be a community service project or nonprofit organization near the retreat center that would host you as volunteers for a few hours. Service/social justice could possibly serve as a good retreat theme that can be interwoven throughout the retreat talks and experiences.
  • Using a retreat center and getting away for the whole weekend is ideal. If there is not a retreat center nearby, or if using a retreat center makes this cost prohibitive, consider hosting the retreat at the parish with participants sleeping at home. You’ll need to build in some extra time in the morning to get people back into “retreat mode.” If you choose this option, you might gather for parts of the retreat outdoors in a park near the parish or even someone’s backyard.
