Kathy Powell

Kathy Powell answered the call six years ago to “do something” for young adults at her parish in Atlanta, Georgia, starting her on a path of joyfully trying new things, collaborating with Charis Ministries to bring Ignatian retreats to young adults, and learning the value of personal invitation. With a background in nonprofit and faith-based communications, she loves subject lines, Saints, and smiling.

Building Faith and Friendship Through Books
This program has a two-fold purpose: It gathers young adults to explore life and faith themes presented in the books they are reading and it connects young adults to the larger parish by inviting parishioners to donate books for them to read (and later discuss them together).

World AIDS Day Remembrance Service
To commemorate World AIDS Day (December 1), gather young adults for a social evening with a side of education and prayer. Learn how to be in solidarity with the more than 35 million men, women, and children facing HIV/AIDS worldwide.

This program includes all of the details to help you create a well-planned e-mail campaign that will engage, teach, and encourage young adults to get involved in the season of Advent.
