‘Generation Rent’

Homeownership among young adults has shown a steady decline since the mid-2000s. Due in no small part to the economic downturn. Many young adults are part of “generation rent” as one article calls it. Delaying (or held back from) everything from getting a job to getting married and starting a family, young adults face a different world than the one many of their parents faced. Share the article about “generation rent” and have a discussion with young adults about their reactions to it and their outlook for the future. This is a great opportunity to listen and identify some of the needs and concerns young adults have in your community. You might find some ideas for future ministry.
