Vine and Branches

May 6, 2012, 5th Sunday of Easter: Acts 9:26-31; 1 John 3:18-24; John 15:1-8

Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • The first reading talks about the early church being “at peace” and “being built up.” Are your family, workplace, and circle of friends peaceful environments where each member is built up? What could you do to improve things?
  • The second reading mentions the importance of being loving in our actions, not just our words. Do you find it easier to speak with love or to act with love? Take a minute to intentionally make one commitment to speak more lovingly and one commitment to act more lovingly in the coming week.
  • The Gospel reading presents the image of our relationship with God being like the vine and the branches. Do you feel connected to God? How could you become more connected to God and to the important people in your life?
