Easter Sunday

Readings for April 16, 2017 — Easter

Acts of the Apostles: 10-34A, 37-43; Psalm 118:1-2, 16-17, 22-23; Colossians 3:1-4 or 1 Corinthians 5:6B-8; John 20:1-9

Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • The first reading sheds light on how all who believe in God will receive forgiveness. How can we share the good news of the Lord through our words and actions?
  • In the psalm, we are told to rejoice and be glad. How can we find goodness and joy in even the most troubling times in our lives?
  • In the Gospel reading of John, the disciples do not understand that Jesus needs to rise from the dead. What does this story tell us about the virtues of patience, trust, and hope? How can we apply these virtues to our faith lives today?
