Seeking The Lord

COPY: Readings for Sunday, January 29, 2017 — Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Zephaniah 2:3; 3:12-13; 1 Corinthians 1:26-31; Matthew 5:1-12a

Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • What does it mean to seek the Lord? What are we seeking for ourselves?
  • In the Gospel, it  is stated “Blessed are you when they insult and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.” How can this come to be? In occurrences like these, what are we to do when we feel tempted to respond malevolently?
  • In the second reading, it stated that “whoever boasts should boast in the Lord.” How are we to do this? How does the Lord give us the right to boast?
