The world’s attention has been focused on the abduction of nearly 300 schoolgirls in Nigeria. The kidnapping gained widespread recognition with the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls. This specific tragedy is just one example of the kinds of abductions and human trafficking that is endemic in parts of the world. Last week, Stephen Colbert interviewed Rosemary Nyirumbe, a nun from Uganda who provides refuge and assistance to women and girls who are victims of such exploitation. Sr. Rosemary talks about the importance of being present in a situation — even if we live halfway around the world.
