Get Real — Healthy Living

The past few weeks we’ve been inundated with suggestions and lists of of annual “New Year’s resolutions.” From advertisements for gym and sports club memberships to Groupons for a lesson with a private trainer, we’re reminded that it’s the start of something new — and an opportunity to make this year better than last year in some way. Perhaps you’ve made a few resolutions yourself. Perhaps you resolve not to resolve. Either way, God calls us to live daily lives that are the best they can be. And that means lives that are the healthiest they can be. Check out this article from Busted Halo about changing a daily habit (or several) to improve your mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Here are some discussion questions to get a conversation started:

  •  How does your physical and mental well-being affect your spiritual well-being?
  • What physical or mental exercises do you do that contribute to your spiritual health?
  • In what ways is God calling you to a more healthy lifestyle in 2014? What healthy habits might you add to your daily routine? What practices might you add to you Lenten discipline this year?
